I have found critique sessions helpful as it reflects my research and ideas through more than one lens. I have been given valuable feedback and advice to help move me forward and think over ideas I had overlooked or hadn't considered. The most standout feedback I had received from one of these sessions was when I was asked: "what type of decision-making scenarios are you going to incorporate within this Interactive fiction novel". From there I had decided that my main objective will be to provide 9-12 year old's a way of thinking through difficult decisions to help calibrate their moral compass and provide guidance for real-life situations.
The process of the "A1 design sketch poster" pushed me to sort through the many information sources I had accumulated about interactive fiction game and decision-making processes. This helped me select what I thought were the most valuable research areas I had looked into, to effectively present to others the direction I'm heading towards and where I'm currently situated.
From this point, I am wanting to speak to others involved in children's education, such as intermediate school teachers and parents. And continue looking into consequentialism, deontology and virtue ethics to aid my interactive fiction scenarios as a basis for engaging readers in making decisions between "right and wrong." I have downloaded popular existing interactive fiction games and got out some classic Goosebumps choose your own adventure books to look at over the break.
